The Excretory System

                                                                                                   Excretory System

Excretory System Function: The excretory system is
the biological system responsible for removing excess
and unnecessary materials from the body fluids of an
organism to help maintain internal chemical homeostasis
and prevent damage to the body. This system eliminates
waste products.

Excretory System Organs:

Kidneys: Removes liquid waste and salt from the blood to form urine.

Ureters: Tubes that carry urine from the kidney.
Bladder: store urine and will expand when lots of urine is stored.     Sphincter: Circular shaped muscles that prevent urine
from leaking out of the bladder.
Urethra: The tube that allows urine to leave the body.

        Interaction with other Systems

The Excretory system works with the Digestive system because it collects waste in the intestines. It also works with the circulatory system because it collects blood waste products in the blood. Another system it works with is the urinary system because it removes liquid waste.

               Analogy

Analogy Explanation

The excretory system is similar to a garbage truck/dump because a garbage truck takes the trash/waste from your house(a.k.a blood cells) and drops it off at the dump/kidney. Then the workers at the dump, sort out metal, plastic, glasses,e.t.c and throw the non-recyclable things in a compressor to be crushed while recyclable things are sent recycling plants to be re-used.
